Hello, Today I added the Chinese language to the site. Also, I have added the chi-CN language flag to the site. You can now create content object translations on existing eZpedia content objects in the chi-CN Chinese language. Try creating some content now. Thank you for your interest. Cheers, Heath

First of all thanks for the discussions - a great improvement! Second, I hope this is the correct place for this post, sorry if I got it wrong. In the spirit of community-fueled improvement - much as what is happening with share.ez.no - I'm writing down my wish list for the interface of eZPedia. 1. Remove usage of the term 'namespaces' and replace it with something else, which applies more commonly to content, such as 'categories' 2. implement a serious content structure for articles, not just a 1-level deep thing. 3. And since no taxonomy is perfect, just use one taxonomy as main navigation and add tags to provide cross navigation 4. Regardless of acceptance of the multi-level tree structure, it would be good if every 'namespace' had an introductory chapter in its main page that explained what it was meant for. As an alternative, such a menu with short explanations could be added in the homepage 5. Left column: merge the 'this article' and 'object id' info boxes 6. Top bar: remove 'printable' link and move it to 'this article' box, as it is an action that operates on current article 7. Top bar: remove 'users' link and move it to 'namespaces' or within namespace 'people', since it is not an action relating to current user profile (nor to current object) 8. Top bar: 'change profile' link should also be moved to 'this article' box, since it is an action operating on current article; It should be renamed too, as it somehaow relates to a user-profile rather than an article profile This way actions will be grouped: - top menu: user profile - 'this object' box in the left col: actions on current obj 9. Move languages icons to top of page - it's just too uncommon to have them at bottom of left menu 10. namespace menu: separate those that are real categories from those that are meta-categories (new, updated, discussion)

Ok. I made it with some work rounds. I am not modify or use any eZ Publish datatype. I set up an custom extension module to do the upload. Upload the file into a sub directory under the var directory. Then, I use a custom action to set up an information collector attribute, just a text line this case, to store the path information of the uploaded file. I know it is not perfect. But, at least it works.

Which file can the menu be changed. If I wanted to convert eZ menu into something like: http://www.emc.com/?fromGlobalSiteSelect or any other structure. Where can it be done? Also, if the menu has to be made vertical on the side, where can it be done?

I realized that this is just too complex. I don't know how to do it yet. Is the file uploaded alone with the other fields of the form? How it is possible? The file upload suppose to be uploaded first on the server already before other fields? What happens when other fields failed validation after the file was uploaded? Do I need custom action? The uploader bar feature will be implemented as ajax server? The original/default ezbinary file doesn't need consider this, because it is not support information collector! This is why I want to use the EnhancedeZBinaryFileType. All in all, I have no clue where to start.

Hello, We have a node related to this topic, http://ezpedia.org/ez/htaccess Honestly it seems little documentation surrounding this usage in ez like a mini-tutorial do not exist presently. Take a look at the default .htaccess file (remember to rename it) as it seems to be very well refined for general use out of the box by most people (I remove the first two or three directives sometimes out of that file for a more complicated reason not worth going into) http://pubsvn.ez.no/nextgen/trunk/.htaccess_root I think extending our existing entry with a brief guide would be a good idea. Hi, in the official document, it has an example of the Virtual host configuration provided that, the match order set to "host" and the DNS was configured right. However, most users will not have the directly access of the web server/appache's configuration file. For me, I only have the .htaccess file at disposal. I can set up two domain to point to the same eZ Installation, but I can't have the access of the config file of apache. I tried to put the Vritual host example into my .htaccess, but it doesn't work. Is there some tutorial or already made example of the rewrite rules for .htaccess file?

Hello I think one could modify the enhancedbinaryfile datatype with further modifications to provide a status bar upload functionality by creating a modified copy. I think which kind of upload functionality you use (re: yui) is up to you to decide. I too am fond of yahoo's js framework/api, it's always neat. I've done things like this before, it is possible but it does require additional development. Cheers

Hi, I want to achieve something on the contact form by using the Enhanced eZ Binary File Type (http://projects.ez.no/enhancedezbinaryfile). I need add a upload progress bar, as it used with the ezmultiupload (http://projects.ez.no/ezmultiupload). Is it possible? I think this is just a question to use a js library, preferably the yui library, right?

Hello Wei, eZ Systems recommends the following subversion best practices, http://ez.no/developer/articles/using_subversion_with_ez_publish I think these best practices should continue to evolve and improve. For example I strongly recommend today not storing the var directory in Subversion at all. With a dedicated ezpublish development team and hosting environment I really have enjoyed using ezsvn.
